Alyssa Gutierrez, Graduate Student Intern
Background
Alyssa Gutierrez is a Master’s level student intern from the University of Central Florida. She is in the process of acquiring her Master’s Degree in Counselor Education with a track in Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Play Therapy. She has a B.S. in Psychology from UCF as well. She has experience in the community including acting as a Mental Health Connections specialist and Guardian Advocate with the Mental Health Association of Central Florida.
She has an affinity for play therapy, but she is aspiring to be an eclectic counselor and is willing to work with a variety of populations to grow upon that. She is an ally of the LGBTQ+ community as well. She is interested in working with ages ranging from 3 and up.
She functions with client-centered, trauma informed, and culturally competent principles. Childhood development, CBT, art therapy, and case management, are just some of her other strengths.
