BACKGROUND
Dwayne is a lover of life and of people. He enjoys meeting clients where they are at and working together towards their goals. He believes there is power in sharing one’s story, identifying the brokenness that took place along the way and experiencing how God might want to speak into that brokenness. One can expect a warm welcoming environment when sitting down with Dwayne. It is his goal that at the end of each session his client leaves feeling encouraged and as if they’ve been heard.
Dwayne has extensive experience working with teens and young adults. He comes into the mental health counseling field having completed a ten year career as a high school guidance counselor. Most notably he has worked closely with cases of anxiety and depression as well as navigating life transitions. He is also interested in working with young professionals and married couples as they navigate their unique seasons of life.
Dwayne was born and raised in Florida. After graduating from the University of Florida with a degree in Family, Youth and Community Sciences he returned to Orlando to start his career working with nonprofits. In December of 2011, he completed his master’s degree in Counseling and Psychology, specializing in School Counseling, and worked as a high school guidance counselor until May of 2022. When not at work, Dwayne enjoys spending time with his wife and children, watching sports, and reading.
