Samira Saoud, M.S., LMHC

BACKGROUND

Samira, a native of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, earned her degree in Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from Palm Beach Atlantic University in 2012, and a law degree from Universidade Católica de Petrópolis in Brazil, when she was twenty three years old. She has experience counseling people of diverse cultures and ethnicities from all walks of life. Born to a Brazilian mother of European descent and a Palestinian father, Samira speaks English, Portuguese and Spanish.

Samira believes that most of our problems stem from the distorted way we view ourselves, other people, and the world around us. She firmly believes counseling can bring about change and she has faith in the human ability to overcome obstacles and shortcomings.

Samira provides a safe place where her clients can share their fears, secrets, habits, and hang-ups without judgment. With all clients, Samira remains genuine, authentic, non-judgmental, accepting and empathetic. As a therapist, she believes we cannot change what we cannot acknowledge, and therefore focuses on addressing self-awareness and insight. This helps individuals pursue their dreams by guiding them to discover their strengths and limitations so they can find purpose in life and seek to be physically, spiritually and emotionally healthy.

Samira is a mother of three adult children and a grandmother. She is married to a native Californian (also a counselor) who shares her passion for walking alongside those on the road of suffering. Samira has worked with veterans, inmates in prison, private practice clients, and in rehabilitation centers for men and women overcoming substance abuse.
